About WEEE

How we recycle old electrical equipment together with Environ, and how you can hand in your old appliance free of charge.

  • Reliability
  • Durability
  • Resistance

The world increasingly needs people and companies to make sustainable choices, and we have committed ourselves to doing what is right for our customers and our employees, and for the environment as well.

We want to have a positive impact on the environment while creating value both for the company and for consumers, and that is why we are convinced that the only way forward is sustainability. We believe that today’s prosperity and high standards of living must keep the world just as beautiful and diverse for the generations to come.

As a responsible company, we are aware of the importance and the influence of our actions on the environment, and we therefore work to improve our environmental performance continuously and to prevent pollution by protecting the quality of the environment.

By joining the Environ Association and transferring our legal responsibilities to it, we ensure the responsible management of the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that arises at the final stage of the life cycle of the products we place on the market.

Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE for short), such as computers, televisions, refrigerators or mobile phones, is the fastest-growing waste stream in the EU.

If it is not managed properly, WEEE can cause major health problems and environmental pollution, because of its high content of hazardous substances. In addition, valuable raw materials that could be reused to manufacture other products are wasted. This is precisely why throwing WEEE away with household waste is FORBIDDEN and punishable by law (the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol).

Together with our sustainability partner, Environ, we have set up a system for the separate collection of WEEE, making sure that all the old or faulty electrical equipment we take back reaches recycling facilities, where it goes through specialised decontamination and neutralisation processes, and that the secondary raw materials obtained from recycling are put back into the economy.

When they break down, or when you simply choose to replace them with newer or more energy-efficient models, recycle your old appliances!

You can request free collection from your home or your premises at logistica@environ.ro, telephone 031.827.0000, or find your nearest collection point at www.undereciclam.ro.

Reasons for you to recycle too:

  • you prevent pollution of the environment;
  • you reduce our dependence on limited natural resources;
  • you help build a sustainable society.
